Do you know Therapeutic Robot, “Paro”?

Paro, which is shaped like a baby seal, was developed by AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technologyin Japan in 1993.

Paro was officially recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2002 for the most therapeutic Robot in the world.

As the population of old people has been increased in Japan, and a lot of companies have paid attention to the new business targeting them.

My company, Daiwa House, has begun to sell and lease Paro since 2010 as a sales agent in Japan.

Advanced Interface technology

Nowadays, the smartphone is becomming popular. Though ,actually, smartphone fucntions themselves can be realized PC, it seems that smartphone is more promising than PC. There are several reasons for this trend like starting up time and portability. For me, the most important factor is interface: touch technology.

In my opinion, interface technology is really important for userability, and I believe that this userability can create customer's trial , royalty with simplex notion which we learned in E-mariketing class.

In the future, I think the connected world will be brouht to everyone without difficulties and the easy interface trend like NFC and the Silly in Apple store.
I suppose that one of ultimate interfaces is Brain Machine Interface. With this interface, people can handle device without motions. This technology can contribute to heavily injured and handicapped people.

As a marketer, I realized such kind of technology can create new businee opportunites.

Facebook Privacy

There are so many different marketing related to Internet and E-business, Therefor there is only on platform and Marketing which attracte more than 1billion users ervery day. Those platforms are the social medias. Facebook is the perfect example of the social media. First website on internet and amount of users, every users interact with each other more important with brands.

Facebook is one of the best way for the brands to interact with their fans, in cost efficency way, a trust from user more sensitive to the relationship with their favorite brands ( inbound Marketing ) and in a bigger amount of users.

This ideal relationship would have been perfect is Facebook would have not changed their privacy policy. Therefore the problem exist from the beginning. It is clearly written in the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities:

" You grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License)."

You can't retroactively change that agreement with a status update! That being said: Facebook's license ends when you delete your intellectual property, so they're unlikely to use your photos or status updates without obtaining permission first.

Which means that Facebook has publicly traded stock which doesn't affect its copyright or privacy guidelines;

Users are already, explicitly, allowing the use of your intellectual property and informations under a specific set of agreed-upon guidelines from the contract.

Those Data are now more and more used by all kind of companies in order to analyze deeply consumers. Those Technologies are the EDI : Electronic Data Interchange. Thanks to it, company will go more and more closers to customers needs, location, moods...

This is one of the developing future of E-business.

Future Marketing Management

The future marketing management is empowerment of collaboration of employees.

Media Literacy-We all need to know

In 20 years ago, researchers are still talking about magic bullet theory (or hypodermic needle model). At that time, the public was considered venerable to the messages because of the limited communication tools. However, since the popularity of Internet has “empowered” people, we, the public is no more passive receiver. On the contrary, we are active message participants. Therefore, instead of holding back toward the new media, we should develop media literacy.

According to Center of Media Literacy, the definition of media literacy is as follows:

Media Literacy is a 21st century approach to education. It provides a framework to access, analyze, evaluate, create and participate with messages in a variety of forms — from print to video to the Internet. Media literacy builds an understanding of the role of media in society as well as essential skills of inquiry and self-expression necessary for citizens of a democracy.

Augmented Reality - Future of Marketing

As for now the marketing is about web 2.0 and social media marketing. Currently marketing is about SEO, CPC, and social media marketing. The marketing nowadays are more segmented. Marketers are trying to target more specific market segments. The use of technology is always part of marketing tools. Mobile phone users are getting bigger than PC users and will continue to increase in the Future. QRCode, RFID and location-based service will sure be part of marketing tools within mobile phone ecosystem. However, I am thinking about Augmented Reality will become the next big thing in marketing.

What is Augmented Reality?
Augmented Reality is computer system that generates a composite view for the user with the combination of the real scene viewed by user and virtual scene generated by the computer that augments the scene with additional information.

Nowadays marketing campaign still rare but some companies have already using Augmented Reality as their campaign. In 2012 Volkswagen Beetle, Net-a-port has released their ads using Augmented Reality technology and it gains a lot of attention from the customers.

Here are ads from Youtube using Augmented Reality:

From the ads we can see they are a lot of possibilities for the future of marketing. This technology is still developing and there are many high tech companies such as Google provides Augmented Reality features on its social platform. Other social platform using augmented reality also exists. Here I post a video that shows the combination of using social media and augmented reality.

One of the problems of Augmented Reality implementation is because it needs a special app that developed by each publisher for watching the ads. In the future, if there is an app that act as a standard application to view augmented reality for mobile phone that can watch all different kind of ads from all advertisers then it will be more comfortable for customers and there should be more advertiser using this technology. High-Tech company like Google is developing a project called project glass that combines social media, location-based service and Augmented Reality within a single integrated application. It is expected to be on sales by the end year 2012. By the time the devices are available on the market, augmented reality advertising will become easier to find.

From touchless technology to human microchipping

None of the futurists could predict two decades ago that computers would so quickly be replaced by tablets and mobile phones become much smarter than computers. It took barely 10 years when first tablets and touch-phones came up and imagine how personal these items. Today's trends already show that mobile devices are moving towards touch-less and contact-less technology. FeliCa chips, for example, are successfully used in mobile devices for proximity detection of user's ID. The chip can hold all the necessary information about the user, including identification details, bank accounts, users personal information and even keys from his/her house, car, etc.

However, in my opinion, these kind of chips will become more organic in the nearest future. "VeriChip" is the only human-implantable microchip approved by US government and its manufacturing and marketing started in 2010. Having a size of smaller than a grain the chips can be implanted into the human body and there are already thousands of people in the world with such chips implanted in their hands. It is hard to imagine the limitations of functions that this tiny chip can hold. It can be linked to the database that holds the individual data, medical records, bank account information, etc. People will no longer need ID cards, driving licenses and credit cards.
Human micro-chipping will also open the new horizons for businesses.

Marketing will become even more personalized than ever before. Each customer will leave its footprint making a purchase or even just visiting the place of interest. Based on the actions, decisions and even reactions of each customer marketers can easily find out all the detailed information about each customer: their age, health status, bank account, interests, likes and dislikes, etc. The videos below show how human micro-chipping can make our lives easier. However there is a question about privacy and if any of us in fact want to share all the personal information. Of course “No” would be the answer of majority of us. But the most important question comes next: Can any of us escape the next stage of evolution of technology?
