eMarketing in Medical Industry

Aging of population in Japan is progressing. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the rate of occupying population aged 65 and over in total population was 29 million people in September, 2010. It was recorded 23.1% in total.

At the same time, according to Google, diffusion rate of the smart phone in Japan in the 2012 1st quarter is 20%. This number will increase surely from now on.

From the situation of the progression of aging and the spread of smart phones, I think that a hospital can be Marketing utilized the smart phone for elderly people. People use their smart phone at least one a day. Then, the data of body temperature, blood pressure, etc. is measured and stored automatically, and it transmits to the hospital. The system of the hospital is automatically compared with patients' daily data. If the data is seen an abnormal value, the system will give warning to the patients by e-mail. Moreover, when the patients fall sick and go to the hospital, the doctor can see the stored data in the system. That’s why doctor can be appropriate measures. It is very important to understand for the ordinary condition of patients for giving exact medical treatment.

If the hospital will be able to develop such application with a smart phone carrer and maker, patients are glad and hospital can gather more patients. Of course, I think that such service is also effective for Non-Japanese who cannot speak Japanese.
