Mobile marketing with QR code

QR code is maybe the most popular 2D barcode.Recent years, with the popularity of smartphone, the QR code is also become more and more popular. Orignially designed to track vehicles during the manufacturing process, it is now often used by companies to offer online ads, services, applications, etc. It is especially convenient and useful for mobile users. When you see an attracting poster, you just need to scan the barcode then you can get the relevant information or link to online-store; when you visit an exhibition and see something interesting but you don't familiar with, there is often a barcode that you can scan it and get the introduction. And QR code is also very useful to be used as tickets or coupons.
In China, people have the tradition of giving red envelope(which holds money in it) in Chinese New Year, birthday party or wedding as a gift with good wishes. I've noticed that the "electronic red envelope" has emerged recent 2 or 3 years. And during the 2012 Chinese New Year, Alipay launched the QR code producing services for users to make "electronic red envelope". People just need to send their wishes with generated QR code through Internet to those they want to give red envelope. Then, the receiver just need to scan the 2D code, the money in the "electronic red envelope" will transfered to their account automatically.
It is really interesting and useful to use QR code in such ways. I think there is still great potential for QR code to be applied to more aspects of life.
