Do you know Therapeutic Robot, “Paro”?
Paro, which is shaped like a baby seal, was developed by AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science
and Technology）in
Japan in 1993.
Paro was officially
recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records in
2002 for the most therapeutic
Robot in the world.
In the United States, Paro had FDA (Food and Drug
Administration) approval and a lot of
medical care and nursing care facilities have already used Paro for treating Autism
children and demented patients.
As the population of old people has been increased in Japan, and a lot of companies have paid
attention to the new business targeting them.
My company, Daiwa House, has begun to sell and lease Paro since 2010 as a sales agent in Japan.
