KAZNET. HISTORY.


As we have learned on Foundation of Web Technologies class. The Internet was born in 1991 at the European Council for Nuclear Research also as known as CERN.

It is quite surprisingly that Kazakhstan also joined to the global network in 1991 through the National Institute of Nuclear Physics. Shortly, from this organisation access to the Internet emerged in all major cities.

At that time, there was only e-mail as a part of Internet technologies. First users says that in the entire company was only one e-mail address and messages were saved to floppy disks.

Current situation.

Internet penetration degree about 50%
Registered more than 53.000 domain.
Placed on 38 in the worldwide ranking of e-government development.
