Information overload

Greetings,

We have been discussing the rapidly increasing amount of information in the e-world and how easy it is to access that information. As we consider how to get and retain the attention of potential customers, we need to consider the challenges brought about by information overload. Consumers are bombarded by information which is seldom filtered for their needs and is often irrelevant and annoying. Simply adding more information to our sites and using bigger font/cooler graphics is not the answer. E-marketers are fighting for the attention of an already information saturated consumer. Smarter and more customized approaches are needed. Check out the article of info overload at: http://www.infoworld.com/articles/ca/xml/00/01/10/000110caoverload.html
