Yet another mobile OS.....

Samsung announced it's own Linux based OS bada yesterday. I didn't follow too deeply into it because frankly I'm failing to see what value it adds to consumers other than "a new alternative". Given the open source and flexible nature of Linux, adding dressings on top and brand it something is really not a high value added activity. Android's got it right and Samsung should just drop the project and/or merge it into the OHA.

Samsung said that "Being a total provider is every company's dream right now". They are going to offer smart phones which are based on many types of operating systems such as Microsoft's Windows Mobile, Google's Android. Fierce competition pushes Samsung to have multi-platform in smart phones. Otherwise, they might be wiped out from the industry. Focusing on just one platform is not enough for this business today!
