The future is already here.

Last class I've discovered the Hatsune Miku. Impressive technology. Really, William Gibson again is right "The future is already here."

But I think more interesting things Gibson had wrote in his novels. I mean digitizing of mind to transmit yourself into a virtual world. Sounds futuristic?

This technology calls the Brain Computer Interface which allows to make direct communication pathway between the brain and an external device. Research on BCIs began in the 1970s at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) under a grant from the National Science Foundation, followed by a contract from... guess... DARPA.

The first man who began using such technology was Jens Newmann. He was totally blind and took the risk to try experimental technology.

I think these technologies will change society and the marketing as well, especially if use it in the existing project like "Second Life".

Can you imagine?
