Recently, email marketing has increasingly become complicated. People tend to have new reasons to be afraid of when they think about the future of email marketing. It seems that the doomsday of email marketing, which was once considered the beneficial form of direct marketing activities of many companies all over the world, has come.
I have found the article (a short one) which mentions about the thorny issues of Email Marketing. It says that the number of people deleting the advertising messages without reading them went up to 72% in Quarter 3, 2006, 28%% higher than that in January 2001. Meanwhile, the number of people buying things advertised via email promotion was down, from 7% in 2001 to 5% in Quarter 3, 2006.
You can have a look at the link below to read the whole article (Thorny issue). What do you think about this issue? Is Email marketing really in its doomsday? According to me, email marketing was once effective and lucrative, yet, currently, it is not and it even makes people frustrated whenever they receive the advertising messages. Things have to be reconsidered and it's time that true marketers should think of new ways to apply email marketing or even brainstorm for new ways to deliver the companies' messages to consumers.
