eMarketing -A Success Internet Marketer-My Future Career Goal

A topic about "Customer Value Proposition in Business Market" in my first eMarketing class has reminded me to a success Indonesian business woman, Anne Ahira, who has been inspiring me since 2 years ago to be an entrepreneur in internet marketing business for my long term career goal.

Her success as an internet marketer has also brought her as a speaker in APEC conference in 2007 to give explanation about her role in improving "eBusiness Revolution" in Indonesia
(Please visit : http://www-mp3.us/about-anne-ahira)

I assume, a key factor of Anne Ahira's success is : she has been able to find and explore what it's called" Value" in her business field . I dream, I can be next Anne Ahira or I can be more success than her someday. However, now....indeed, I don't fully understand, what's a value? how to find a value? how to create a marketing strategy with a value? So, I believe, eMarketing is one of important courses that will provide me with an appropriate fundamental knowledge about "Value" and many more knowledge to prepare me towards my future career goal.

Spending to drive traffic to Facebook

From Adage.com:

Many packaged-goods marketers have built out elaborate fan pages on Facebook, but they're focusing their media spend on internet ads that aren't on Facebook, according to new research from comScore.

A comScore analysis of online ad impressions from July shows CPGs have become the heaviest users of "socially enabled" ads that appear on sites outside Facebook but include "visit us on Facebook" or other "Click to Facebook" appeals to get users to brand pages.

(...)

Another reason to drive traffic to Facebook, is that brands are getting more exposure among friends of fans than the fans themselves. Messaging in socially enabled online ads tends heavily toward promotional or philanthropic activities, Mr. Zeman said, citing a recent Bud Light Port Paradise promotion and P&G ads focused on getting people to join its "Dawn Saves Wildlife" program for cleaning wildlife affected by oil spills.

(...)

Viewership of updates is by far the main way brand pages reach fans. An analysis of 1,000 brand fan pages by PageLever covering June through August found a mean average of 82% of fans viewed at least one update, with the median fan page getting viewership of at least one update by 98% of fans.

I remember reading about this during my internship, but apparently when advertising through social media, the greatest value isn't the amount of people who hit "like" on your page, but how many of them reblog about your brand. Advertisers don't need to reach people who are already fans; they need to reach those who aren't fans, the friends of fans.

About Bookrabbit

I got interested in Bookrabbits' strategy. If they definnded the behavior that prefer to describe opinion about books as a heavy readers one, the strategy was reasonable, I thought. Capturing Amazon's heavy user impacts much.
In this morning, I felt sad when I watched the NEWS. Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, passed away today. He originally left control of Apple to Tim Cook due to his degradating health. A loss for everyone waiting for the iphone5. I am interested in him as a great entrepreneur.

Steve Jobs and Apple value

It's a big news for me that Steve Jobs has passed away today. It's make me think about how much value of his products. In the pass, we can live happily without ipod, iphone, i-something but now, I believe, if you own Apple's product, you would feel uncomfortable if you go somewhere without that stuff. I think Steve Jobs has created a big value that effected a life style of a whole people this world and now we lost that person forever.

After the first E-marketing class, I went back dorm and think about what were the problem in my country that could lead me to new business. Then a lot of problems popped up but I can't find any good idea on business that could solve that. Sometime some idea came out, but I thought it was impossible to do that, too difficult, lack of stuff, I'm not good at it, bla bla bla. However, maybe I should adjust my thought. If Steve Jobs thought something like that, there would be no Apple today.

Anyway, I still have time while studying in IUJ to think about it. Maybe I'll got some more idea later to start my own business after I attend more e-business class:)

RIP for Steve, I love his speech

First Class of E-marketing

Coming from an IT background and so passionate to divert my carreer into being a succesful entreprenuer, the first E-marketing Class's lesson was an eye opener as I had learnt that not all Marketers are genuine ones unless they follow all the roles marketers should undertake, so I would definetely be careful be to be one of the good ones.
